Carrion Pass - Heist in the Ash Wastes

As the Great Ash Road approaches Hive Acropolis, it runs up against the impassable cliffs of a towering plateau.  Those with the time and fuel follow the road South, where two days travel across the flats brings the gates of Acropolis into view.

The less fortunate, or the foolhardy, may risk a run through the Carrion Pass.  This narrow canyon was once a seam of valuable ore, strip mined in a past age to feed the insatiable appetite of Necromunda’s industry.  Now it’s littered with the bones of man and machine - morbid warning signs to all who enter.

Hidden within the crags and side passages of the canyon is an eclectic warren of desperation and villainy.  Ash wasters, troll scum, slavers, mutants and worse descend upon any prey that passes by.

Imor Tan, servant of house Helmawr, guardian of the cargo rig is aware of what is may to come.
His loyal adjutant is already shouting orders and shoos the guards to their positions. An abhorrent bunch of disposable Hive Scum and Arco-Flagellants.

This is my modest contribution to the Inquisimunda event 'Carrion Pass' at Adepticon 2019. My request to join this event and contribute some NPCs was successful and I'm a bit proud and very thankful for this opportunity. At this point I'd like to say that this is my first step into the INQ28 / Inquisimunda community. Everyone I contacted so far was really nice, friendly and helpful.

I joined late and had litte time to create something for this event. I thought that my recently finished Marauders could fit into this scenario pretty well. The challanging part for me was to give this group the right appearance to serve as guards for the cargo rig. Enslaved and damned to guard the cargo rig till the end of their pathetic, worthless lives. Led by a commander with a more imperial / administrativ look, who ensures that they never forget their duty.

Mad Max Fury Road was permanent in my minds. Maybe becaus I've seen some Warbands of the attendants or maybe just because it's a 'heist in the ash wastes' scenario. I converted the Janus Draik mini and created an adjutant based on a Chaos Cultist. I painted them the same way I've painted the marauders before and think they have a coherent look and match perfectly.

    1. Thanks Mark! Actually I considered to give him long hair. But I thought it wouldn't fit the appearance of the the Warband. They are all bald-headed, due to the toxicity of necromundas ash wastes. And the fur is a nice relocation in my opinion. Cheers!

  2. Saw these earlier over on Dakka, and my immediate reaction was that they would also work really well as Blood Pact, especially the commander!

More wonderful kitbashes and lovely painting from you -- thumbs up!! :)

    1. Thank you!
That is a really nice suggestion. A few added Khorne symbols, a bit of red paint and voilà. I guess you're right. ;-)

There are many different reactions so far and it seems that these models are really versatile.
